Hi All!
I’m walking 35km in The Bloody Long Walk. That’s 46,200 steps in one day!
Even better, I’ll be walking with 3 other members of my family – something we’ve never done together! We also have a family friend coming along and we’ve decided to call our team “Looking for the nearest pub”!!!
This is going to be fun. Its certainly something a little different for my regular readers! I’ll be sure to share my training walks and of course the main event on this blog. I’ll have lots of lovely pictures from Palm Beach (where soap “Home and Away” was filmed) to Manly (home of one of the most amazing beaches in the world). I’m looking forward to it!
We are walking for charity so are raising money – if you are able to donate it would be very much appreciated. Please click this link to make your donation. Thank you!

I’m walking 35km in The Bloody Long Walk to help Australians living with mitochondrial disease.
I know I’ll cross the finish line exhausted and blistered, but that’s nothing compared to what people with mitochondrial disease (mito) go through every day of their lives.
Mito robs the body’s cells of energy, causing multiple organ dysfunction or failure. It can affect anyone at any age.
Every dollar will make a difference!
My 35km walk will be bloody tough, but with your support, I know I can do it. THANK YOU!
🙂
Good on you. I’ve done 5 x 100km charity events. Fundraising got harder every year. The first year I did one was what got me into hiking. (After a brief dabble whilst living in Japan). Training and getting the feet ‘worn in’ led to me finding brilliant trails around Perth and beyond. I’d just never really looked before.

Thanks! I did a charity walk a couple of years ago and found so many new trails in my area that It made me love where I live (I’d only recently moved into the area). I think I’m going to try to visit Kuringai Chase National Park a lot more as there are some long flat trails there that look interesting.
Hiking in Japan just looks amazing. Out of all the countries I see on blogs that one is most appealing- just looks beautiful- even the small rural towns look amazing.
Fundraising is hard, especially if you’ve done it before but I’m hoping enough time has passed that folks will dig into their pockets. I really would be happy with $1 donations as it means people have at least noticed the effort.
I’m looking forward to it!
