I’m walking to raise funds for OneSight! Here’s an update from halfway!
Distance walked: 55km of my 100km goal!
Funds raised: $335 of my $300 goal!
Family: $95.40
Work Mates: $128.30
Fellow bushwalkers and online community : $121.30
People helped: 11 disadvantaged people can now receive an eye exam and glasses.
The most astonishing bit from the above is that I have never met in real life any of the bushwalkers whom have given- we’ve only chatted online and enjoyed each other’s pictures and blogs and stories. I do want to go for a walk in the future with the folks that live nearby. I expect the company will be awesome!
I’m amazed that my work colleagues have donated so much as they donate frequently to this cause throughout the year and personally participate in actual OneSight clinics. So it’s amazing they have anything left to give! They have also shared my posts within their networks.
My family have been awesome and have supported me by donating, wishing me well, cheering my success, liking and sharing my posts to help me spread awareness. I am surprised that I haven’t received more actual donations from those closest – I’ve had more $$ from near strangers! Guess I need to visit more often…😄
I’d like to ask my blog readers to please give a little. A $10 donation helps provide a pair of glasses to someone in need. A $20 donation helps provide an eye exam to someone in need. A $30 donation can help provide an eye exam and a pair of glasses to someone in need.
I have stretched my goal to $400. I’m planning some awesome walks for the remaining distance – stay tuned!
Thank you so much to everyone who has given so far and thank you in advance to all my readers who are willing to give now!
To give, please visit my everydayhero page.
Congratulations Nathan!

Thank you! I’m not raising that much but it’s fun to do anyway! I’ve discovered quite a few interesting trails around my house.

I have tried a couple of times to donate some money using Paypal but the Paypal connection has failed both times. I’ll try again this evening.
I’m sure any amount of money raised by you will be so welcome! I always have such difficulty getting anyone to sponsor me or donate money to a cause I support; you have done marvellously! 🙂

Thank you for trying to donate! It’s much appreciated. Don’t worry too much if can’t make it work. Walking for charity has to be the worst way to raise money! If I shaved my head I’d be rolling in it!

I hear that sitting in a bath of cold baked beans is a winner too!

Thank you so much Clare! That’s another child who can be provided with a pair of glasses that otherwise would have been missed. I’m almost at my goal! I’ll be headed out on a walk this weekend so I’ll put up the blog post as quick as I can so you get your money’s worth! I’ve been reading your blog for over two years now and love reading it. Be sure to let me know the next time you are raising funds.
Thanks again Clare.
